Driving traffic is one of the toughest but essential parts of internet marketing. This is the part that truly differentiates a successful affiliate marketer from an unsuccessful one. You may have the most beautiful and attractive website and product but if there are no visitors, it is like a shop without a customer walking past.

Therefore learning to drive traffic is a must for anyone who is serious about their business. In this article, I will be focusing on the Article Marketing method that i use to generate almost 75% of my visitors.

Article Marketing is not as tough as what most of you think; people always have the perception that you must write a very sophisticated article to be a good one. In actual fact, what people need from your article is your sharing of your expertise so that they can learn and apply what you know. You do not have to write rocket science article to entice your reader. In fact, the more sophisticated your article, the less people will stay reading because they find it hard to understand.

These are what you need in your article in order to generate traffic to your website

1) Powerful title

2) Relevant content of your area of expertise

3) Introduction

4) Problem faced by people

5) Your solution to the problem

6) Your Bio: Always include a link to direct people to your website to learn more about your expertise

7) Word Count of around 350 – 450 will do

I have done numerous tracking of my articles and I found that an article of 300 – 450 words generate the same number of traffic for me as an article of 700 – 1000 words. Therefore if you have written 1000 words articles, you can split it into 3 articles of different parts because people are more likely to finish reading a 350 words article than a 1000 words article.

The reason why internet exists is because of information, therefore writing article is one of the most effective methods of traffic generation as it is one of the mean of information sharing. Besides traffic generation, article marketing can also increase the number of back links to your website and it can help to improve your ranking in the search engines as well.

I have been using article marketing as my primary tool for traffic generation and it has proven to be very effective for me. So take some time everyday to write an article to share your expertise with people and at the same time increase the traffic to your site
